Important Information for Continuous Learning Plan 7-12
Important Information for USD 237 JH and HS Students
USD 237 junior high and high school teachers are currently working on our continuous learning plan. This will be implemented on Monday, March 30th. All junior high and high school students will be receiving information on adding all their courses on Google classroom. This information will come from Mrs. Attwood, Mr. Sasse, or Mrs. Elliott. Those students who already have a teacher that uses Google classroom. (7th grade-10th grade) will receive their class codes through their teacher who uses Google classroom. This will be a shared Google document on their existing teachers’ Google classroom. Junior and seniors MUST check their Redmen Google accounts to gain access to all their courses. This email will be from Mrs. Miller. All students will need to add their courses on Google classroom and enroll by Sunday, March 29th. If your child is having trouble logging into Google classroom, please let the school know. The online instruction will be from March 30th to May 15th.
Learning Philosophy: USD 237 teachers will provide continuous learning opportunities using a variety of resources within a Google classroom forum.
Expectations: Students are required to complete their learning opportunities assigned by their teachers. If students fail to meet their teachers’ expectations regarding time spent and assignment completion, students will fail the 4th nine weeks. Failing the 4th nine weeks could result in retaking the class next year, Eligibility for activities (per KSHSAA guidelines) next year in the fall, and their individual grades.
Requirements: Students will be given learning opportunities throughout the week to complete. These MUST be completed within the time frame given by the teacher. This is an opportunity for students to learn in a variety of ways. There will be times where teachers schedule a group live meeting. This meeting will take place using Google Meet (this is an app in the “waffle”) or Zoom. This live meeting will be scheduled with the teacher. The teachers will also have office hours from 7:45-3:45 Monday-Friday. Students who have questions are encouraged to email their teachers or to use the Google classroom forum to ask a question. Teachers will respond to students during these hours.
Teachers are aware that this is a different mode of learning and we all must be flexible in order for it to be successful.
