5th Grade Poems

Fifth Graders have been working hard in grammar and writing class. One area they have been studying is poetry. After studying the many different styles of poetry, the students were assigned to write a fall sensory poem. They had to fill out a graphic organizer using their five senses; smell, taste, touch, hear, and see. After doing that, they crafted poems that were three stanzas long and had a rhyming pattern of ABAB. To finish the project, they created a fall tree by tracing their hand and painting leaves using the pointillism technique.
